Solar Panel Maintenance Las Vegas: Seasonal Cleaning Plans

Short answer: a solar panel maintenance Las Vegas plan puts your cleanings on the local calendar instead of waiting until the panels look bad. For most homes that means one visit in spring after the windy season and one after monsoon season. Homes near construction, homes with pigeons, and commercial arrays usually need a third. Every visit includes an inspection, a pure-water wash and a photo report.

The Las Vegas solar calendar

Dirt does not land on Las Vegas panels evenly through the year. It comes in seasons, so the best time to clean depends on the month.

SeasonWhat happens to your panelsWhat we do
Spring, about March to MayThe windy season. Forecasters say spring storms push wind straight through Southern Nevada, with gusts that can top 60 mph.Spring cleaning before your panels’ highest-production months
Summer, June to AugustLong days and 110°F heat. Cold water on hot glass can stress it and leaves streaks.Dawn-only visits when the glass is cool
Monsoon, July to SeptemberShort storms mix rain and dust into mud streaks. UNLV found it took at least 0.2 inches of rain to even partly restore output.Wait for the storms to pass, then wash off the mud
Fall, October and NovemberMud and dust left from monsoon season.Post-monsoon cleaning and a pigeon check
Winter, December to FebruaryLower sun and cooler roofs.A good time for inspections and pigeon mesh installs

What every visit includes

  • A visual check of every panel before we touch it: cracks, brown spots, loose wiring and nesting
  • A deionized-water rinse, so no white mineral spots from Las Vegas tap water
  • A soft-brush scrub with no soap and no pressure washer
  • A pigeon check: droppings, nesting material and the condition of any mesh
  • An output check: we compare clear-day production with the same month last year
  • Before and after photos sent to you

What do maintenance plans cost in Las Vegas?

Plan prices are public for at least one local company. Barron’s Solar Wash in Henderson lists three cleanings a year for $30 a month, or $360 a year, and $40 a month, or $480 a year, with an anti-static coating. The same company lists one-time cleanings from $179.99, so three cleanings on a plan work out to about $120 each.

That is the main reason to put cleanings on a schedule: per-visit prices usually drop when a company can plan its route. We quote plans on your panel count, roof type and how many visits you need. See the full Las Vegas solar cleaning price guide.

Honest note: you may not need a plan

If your monitoring app shows output close to the same month last year, light dust is costing you very little. A plan makes sense when dust, droppings or construction keep coming back. Solar panel maintenance Las Vegas FAQs

How often should solar panels be cleaned in Las Vegas?

Most homes do well with one cleaning in spring and another after monsoon season. Homes near construction, homes with pigeons and low-tilt or commercial arrays often need a third visit.

What is the best month to clean solar panels in Las Vegas?

Late spring, after the windy season and before the long summer days when panels produce the most. In summer, cleanings should happen at dawn only, when the glass is cool.

Is a maintenance plan cheaper than booking one cleaning at a time?

Usually, yes. One Henderson company lists one-time cleanings from $179.99 and a three-cleaning plan for $360 a year, which works out to about $120 per visit.

Do I still need cleanings if I have pigeon mesh?

Mesh stops birds from nesting under the panels, but dust and mud still land on the glass. Each plan visit also checks that the mesh is still tight.

Do you offer maintenance schedules for businesses and HOAs?

Yes. Commercial roofs, carports, HOA common areas and property portfolios can get a custom schedule with a report for each site. See our commercial solar cleaning page.
